BIC America is a manufacturer of audio equipment. The BIC F12 subwoofer, one of the most talked about budget subwoofers in the marketplace, has been around since the 1970's. BIC America, despite its outdated website, is an established brand that produces a variety of great and affordable loudspeakers. With a punchy, impactful bass and a loud sound that can rumble walls, the F12 is a worthy product.

The BIC America F12 Subwoofer's exterior is simple and rectangular. The dimensions of the enclosure are 17x1475x17.25 inches, and it weighs in at 42.7 pounds. It is constructed from MDF boards with black laminate. Four rubber feet on the bottom help to stabilize the woofer, and prevent it from moving when bass kicks in. The speaker is located in the front. However, there's a port on the bottom that allows for the amp to be plugged into it.
Although the design of this subwoofer is not extravagant, it looks great in a minimal way.
It is heavy and sturdy, made from strong materials. We chose to expose the shiny, metallic centre of this quality injection-molded speaker. This subwoofer is simple in design but very attractive.

The basic setup of the BIC America F12 Subwoofers is simple. The basic setup was simple. We connected the receiver to the sub input and selected the receiver type. Finally, we turned the power on. We first tested the crossover frequency and volume with music. Then we turned the knobs to find the desired range.
Good sound quality with any subwoofer depends on its placement. People often have trouble with their subwoofers because they do not adjust the placement to get the right sound. You can find many resources on the internet that will help you do this. We recommend doing some research.
The spot that we felt would best suit our F12 was chosen. We adjusted the distance to the subwoofer and the wall, while listening to music. Once we had found the perfect spot, we tuned the crossover frequency and volume knobs. We then listened to our test playlist and made sure that we had the right settings for all types of music.
BIC has excellent customer service. They are always available to assist you with your questions. Their contact information is available on their website.

It is widely regarded as the most affordable subwoofer available within the $200-300 price range. The F12 is a great performer in our listening tests. It is consistent in volume and has excellent frequency separation. The bass is clearer than any other subs that it could handle at lower frequencies.
It is well-respected as one of best subwoofers under $200 and $300, which has earned it a good reputation.
The BIC F12 is as good as any sub, even if you're watching Dolby Digital or DTS HD Audio movies that contain heavy bass. It clearly represents the low notes and you can feel it. Even at very high volume, we didn't detect any distortion or muddiness. This sub will sound great with any music you put it in, provided you locate the correct location.
BIC America F12 Subwoofer is priced at $450 MSRP, but typically sells for $220. The Polk Audio PSW505 Subwoofer and the BIC Acoustech PPL-200 II are also popular budget-friendly options. They cost around $300. Although technically they are both more powerful than the other two, it is not worth the additional cost.
The BIC F12 offers a great deal for the money. The BIC F12 has an excellent reputation and is built well. It also comes with a 5-year warranty on all parts. It is more powerful than most home theatre applications and has better clarity and articulation at lower frequencies. The BIC F12 offers a fantastic value, and is why it is so beloved by home-theater enthusiasts.
The F12 and Polk Audio PSW505 can both fill a room with powerful bass. Although the PSW505 is slightly more powerful than the F12 at 460 watts, it has the same 450 watts. However, while the PSW505 can handle 300 watts of RMS power, the BIC F12 has only 150.
The subs have a volume, crossover, and phase control. Both are magnetically shielded with gold-plated terminals. BIC F12 features Dolby Digital/DTS and Dolby ProLogic. The PSW505 offers an unfiltered LFE input and stereo-filtered line-level input.
Some reports claim that the PSW505's reliability is less than that of the BIC F12, and that the speaker grill doesn't last as long as it should. However, we haven’t been able to test this sub for ourselves. However, we were able to confirm that the PSW505 makes some very annoying noises at higher volumes. The PSW505 was not as good at low-end sounds. We found that the BIC F12 performed better when playing music and movies.
The topic is often discussed on audio forums. They are both good subs and affordable. However, the BIC F12 sounds clearer than the PSW505.
Although the BIC America F12 Subwoofer may be cheap, it doesn't have the same sound quality. The F12 Subwoofer has a clear and distinct bass response that can be used for audio or video, and it shakes the room while doing so. The F12 costs less than its competition by nearly $100, making it easy for even the most demanding listener to recommend the F12.
