GoPro Hero7 Black is 2.4x1.3x1.8inches. It's compact, almost cube-like in size. It is completely black and has a rubber case that wraps around it. This makes the device feel very soft.
It is extremely minimalist in design. You will find the power button on the right and the record button at top. The USB and HDMI ports are hidden by a side door. A second door at the bottom conceals the MicroSD port and the battery. A small display displays current settings on the front of the camera.
These doors shield the ports of the camera from the elements, and provide a rugged outer shell to withstand drops and submersion up to 33 feet in water. The HERO7 Black travel camera is a fantastic choice for exotic adventures where rough terrain and water adventure are part of the itinerary.
The GoPro HERO7 Black's body heats up when it is used for prolonged periods. This was something we discovered while testing it. It was very hot even after being turned off for several hours. If the device is being used in high temperatures, this can pose a problem.

Out of the box, GoPro Hero7 Black had very little battery life. After powering it on, the device set the time, date and place. The software update prompt prompted us. This required both a fully charged battery and a blank card.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi compatibility make it possible to pair the HERO7Black with a smartphone running GoPro. The Preferences menu made it possible to identify the camera and the app was able to scan the device and establish a connection to the camera once the file was opened.
GoPro HERO7 Black features a 1/2.3 inch 12-megapixel sensor, which is designed for action. HyperSmooth, an electronic image stabilization technology that stabilizes footage with the new image processor, is now available. The feature tracks unwanted movement in your video and corrects it algorithmically. This feature makes footage stable, even while filming handheld and on uneven terrain.
The GoPro was taken out to record handheld video while we were walking around. This would usually have shake. It was almost like we were using a gimbal. The smooth footage recorded by the HERO7Black had no camera shake.
This makes footage look amazing even while filming handheld, or riding on uneven terrain.
GoPro Hero7 Black's fixed lens can shoot wide or SuperView mode. This gives footage a fisheye effect. It can sometimes be annoying, however, there are solutions. You can use video editing software to fix it. The camera has the ability to shoot at lower resolutions with a linear view field, which minimizes lens distortion. SuperView cannot be used when the aspect ratio is 4:3.
It is stunning to see 4K video on the GoPro Hero7 Black. This camera is a great choice for content creators as well as travel bloggers.
The 4K video recorded in bright light conditions was the best for testing the GoPro Hero7 Black. The quality of 4K video began to decrease in lower lighting conditions, and there was a lot more grain visible in shadows.
The GoPro HERO7 now has the capability to make a TimeWarp video. The HyperSmooth technology allows users to make super smooth, time-lapse videos. You can be creative with time-lapse videos.
It is possible to record 1080p video at up to 240 frames per second, which is a major game changer. This camera produces stunning slow motion footage in bright light conditions. The HERO7Black is a fantastic camera for athletes who want to capture and analyze their movements.
Live streaming is also available on the GoPro HERO7. You can create a live stream by using the GoPro app. After connecting to your desired account you can go live in minutes.
Although the GoPro Hero7 Black's photo quality is not great, it can create HDR images.
The lens distortion gives the photos that this camera creates a unique look you might either like or dislike. The camera also features a fixed lens, which does not allow for zooming. This limits the functionality of point-and shoot cameras.
But generally speaking, the GoPro HERO7 Black is not a camera known for its stunning photographs—it is known for its stunning video capabilities. This camera is not meant for people who want to take still photos.
Microphones on the GoPro HERO7 Black are very sensitive, and can easily record background noise. You can hear the microphones in the video if you touch them. We accidentally covered the microphones by our fingers while taking handheld video. This caused our audio to become muffled.
External microphones can be added to transform the GoPro Hero7 Black into an action camera that is also a video camera.
If sound quality isn't a top priority for your videos, the internal microphones can be useful. However, if you need great audio, an external microphone is better. The USB connector allows you to connect an external microphone to your HERO7 Black. This opens up the possibility of connecting lapel mics and digital audio recorders, which will enhance the sound recording abilities.
External microphones can be added to transform the GoPro Hero7 Black into an action camera. This camera is a great tool for content creators who want to combine 4K resolution and high audio quality.
The GoPro Hero7 Black is easy to use for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. The camera was connected immediately after we downloaded the GoPro app to our smartphones. We also had a larger interface that was easier to read and a live view feature. This allowed us to remotely manage the camera and frame videos.
The app allows you to modify mode settings and change the initial setup. You can also review camera information, change Wi-Fi remotes and monitor your SD card size. The app also allows you to view the footage and photos that your camera has captured.
The HERO7 Black can record 4K video at 60 fps. Its battery lasts for about 50 minutes. If you plan to shoot all day it is smart to keep a couple extra batteries on hand.
An alternative option for extending the shooting time is to connect your GoPro HERO7 Black via USB to an external battery.
The GoPro Hero7 Black retails for $450, but is often sold for much less. This camera offers amazing features at a reasonable price. This camera is worth every penny, thanks to its 4K recording and HyperSmooth image stability, high frame rates as well as Bluetooth connectivity. It also has waterproof capabilities, live streaming, Bluetooth connectivity, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Although it sells at between $600- $650, the price tag for this model is still significantly higher than that of the GoPro Hero7 Black. The PowerShot can be used as a vlogging cam and is an alternative to the GoPro HERO7 Black. The PowerShot records at 1080p, rather than 4K. However, it boasts a 20.3 Megapixel sensor with 180 degrees of articulating LCD touchscreen that is perfect for self-recording.
Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II uses a DIGIC 7 image processor, which produces better photos than the GoPro HERO7Black. Although it is not as sophisticated as GoPro's HyperSmooth, this image processor provides superior video stabilization and autofocusing.
The Canon's interface is far more intuitive than the GoPro Hero7 Black. This is a great choice for anyone who wants a flexible camera they can use quickly without needing to navigate through tiny menus.
